India is known as the king of festivals because every year there are large no. of festivals which are celebrated in India with lot  of joy and happiness with full enjoyment.This time it has to be celebrated on 22 october 2015.There are various types of festivals in India, they are Holi, Diwali, Raksha Bandhan, Dussehra and etc.All the Indians celebrated these festivals with a lot of joy,enjoyment and with happiness. Dussehra is one of these festivals which is celebrated in India, Nepal, SriLanka and Bangladesh.It is also known as Vijayadashami.

*Why it is celebrated?

Vijayadashmi is a sanskrit word where 'vijaya' means 'victory' and 'dashmi' means 'tenth day'.As we all know that we are celebrating this festival because on this day Lord Ram killed the Lanka King, Ravan and rescued the life of his wife sita which was abducted by the devil Ravan.This is the only one  festival in India which Indicates the triumph on good over evil.This festival traditionally represent the legend of Lord Rama.This festival is ten days long,where tenth day is celebrated as vijayadashmi.

*How it is celebrated?

On first day of this festival, Ramleela is celebrated in various places.People plays different role in Ramleela every year and shows how Lord Rama triumph on evil and defeat Ravana. People plays the role of Lord Rama,Devi Sita, Lord Laxman, Lord Hanuman and etc.In 10 days they try to tell whole journey of 14 years of lord Rama.On tenth and last day of this Festival large statues of evil Ravana, his son Meghnath and and brother Kumbhkaran statues are constructed with full of crackers and brought them in open fields.

On tenth day Lord Rama burns them to destroy all the effgies and destroy all three devils and symphosiges triumph of good on evil.
